POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Stewardship Programs (West) at HPSA is an integrated member of the HPSA executive team supporting the association’s strategic plan, budget and projects. The Director would be responsible for the successful development, launch and management of provincial Medication Return Programs and Sharp Collection Programs in BC, MB and ON (other provinces/territories might be regulated in the future). This position directly reports to the President & CEO.
DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Compliance/Reporting
  • Manage, develop and/or secure the renewal of existing and approval of new Medication Return Program and/or Sharp Collection Program plans
  • Oversee submission of provincial Annual Reports and ensure compliance with assigned provincial targets
Programs Operations
  • Responsible for the operational activities related to each of the program delivery
  • Develop and oversee service providers and vendors contractual relationships
  • Develop and oversee the continuous improvement strategies for program delivery
  • Oversee Collection Location sites onboarding, support and compliance with HPSA’s guidelines
Membership
  • Support the Member Engagement Team in continuous improvement strategy to increase HPSA’s value proposition (communication, policies, guidelines)
Executive Team
  • Accountable for provincial budgets and projects in line with the HPSA overall strategic plan
  • Prepare Board of Directors reports and presentations
  • Lead and/or support with the development and implementation of project-specific engagement plan, strategies, white papers in collaboration with the executive
  • Develop, grow, and nurture the Association’s reputation, know-how and expertise
Communication
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive communications plans and provincial market strategies, with a focus on awareness building – ensuring plans meet KPIs, regulatory requirements and commitments
Stakeholders’ Engagement
  • Identify, develop, grow and nurture relationships with relevant stakeholders, including industry and professional associations, provincial governments and related agencies, stewardship groups provincial service providers and large pharmacies banners.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • BA is required, MA preferred, or in place of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in regulatory affairs is a strong asset (government engagement and regulatory texts interpretation)
  • Program management experience required
  • Prior experience in Financial Management (P&L)
  • Prior experience in Producer Responsibility Organization or Industry Association is an asse t
  • Prior experience dealing with Board is an asset
  • Ability to speak at and represent HPSA at stakeholder events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
